Bio Notes

I'm not very good at writing subjective stuff, much better at the objective reports. But here goes:

Anton Aylward has been developing high integrity software and network systems for over 25 years. As an engineer, entrepreneur, business manager and auditor, he has held executive and consultative positions in England and Canada. His work has also taken him though Europe and the United States. He obtained his Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) qualification in 1997 and renewed it in 2001 and again in 2004.

Mr Aylward began his career designing VLSI chips for the MIL-1553-B optical fibre control systems of the F-15 fighter jet. He worked with high-speed bitslice and silicon-on-sapphire systems, logic simulators and pioneered a number of prototyping and testing methodologies. After coming to Canada, Mr Aylward founded Ontario's first commercial Internet Service Provider and set the business and franchising model that was followed by all the subsequent ISPs up to the advent of ISDN and Broadband.

Mr Aylward was trained in formal audit methodology at the Bank of Montreal and uses the widely accepted COBIT methodology developed by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) for Risk Analysis and Business Impact Analysis and IT governance. Mr Aylward has been a speaker at Vanguard Enterprise Security Expo and at Security.Net. He also gives focused presentations to clients on specific matters and has had articles published in the computer press on security matters.

He is active in the Southern Ontario Security community, serves on the board of the Toronto Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) and is an active member of the CISSP Forum.
