Bill Campbell's CISSPforum FAQ

See http://www.eaglesreach.com/cisspforum/faq.html

"RTFM" sums it up, but here are some edited highlights:

  • Only send messages that are fit to be circulated to the entire list membership to cisspforum@yahoogroups@@_NOSPAM_@@.com
  • Once you hit 'send', it is probably a little too late to retract what you said
  • If you simply reply to CISSPforum messages, your reply will go to everyone on the list
  • Adjust the 'To:" address if you only want to send your reply to the originator of a list message
  • Don't send 'unsubscribe' commands to the list address, use the list admin address for this kind of stuff (read the bottom of any list message for a clue)
  • Don't set an out-of-office message on an email address subscribed to this or indeed any other email list (use a specific email address for lists, or unsubscribe yourself to each one BEFORE you head off into the sunset, or get out your flameproof coat when you return ...)
  • Don't flame other users via the list - flame them directly if you really must, but remember that about a dozen other members will probably have flamed them already, for good reason, and count to twenty before you hit that 'send' button.
